How blessed am I!? Theresa and I have grown together for most of our high school career and it’s such a pleasure to be able to be a part of her life. She’s one of the most genuine, happy people I have ever met! If it was possible, her soul would radiate sunshine. Not even kidding!!

We’re going off to college in a matter of months and the universities we decided on happen to be 30 minutes away from each other! I’m so happy that everything is working out! I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Theresa is going to go to the University of Texas. Though she’s kind of undecided in what she wants to do, she’s extremely bright and strong- I know she’ll achieve whatever dreams that come her way!

She’s also an amazing artist! She is so good at singing and playing guitar- it’s unreal! I love the times spent at the house listening to her work on a song or do covers of her favorites. It’s the best!

Here’s some images we got from the past couple of days of shooting! I’m in love with these!!!

Every once in awhile I need a creative release from busy seasons like I’m currently in. I’ve been in love with Christina’s look since the first time I took a glimpse into her portfolio and I’m so glad I’ve been able to work with her! She’s such a rad person inside and out and we [...]

When Claire told me that she wanted me to do her senior pictures, I was ecstatic enough. Then she threw in that she ORDERED BUTTERFLIES. Like, real life butterflies. I didn’t even realize you could DO that. Apparently they freeze them and when you get them out of the cooler, they defrost and come to [...]

I didn’t even realize you could DO that. Apparently they freeze them and when you get them out of the cooler, they defrost and come to life. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! So freaking cool. We had so much fun shooting these. That’s one of the main reasons I love shooting seniors. We always have a blast and the pictures come out gorgeous. Enjoy Claire’s senior pictures!

Here’s a few frames from Sara’s bridals I shot a few months ago. Sorry about the lack of blogging. I recently got an email that I’m on someone’s “blog stalking” list and every week when they’re drinking their coffee and going through their blogs, they get disappointed with my lack of posts. This one’s for [...]

Every once in-a-while a creative needs to fill in the spaces of their every day sessions and just have a day to do nothing but create. This is what this session was for me. I’ve always been a firm believer that a creative needs to follow the electric shocks that move them as an individual. What I mean by that, is that every creative has something that they particularly like shooting, yet most of the time, it doesn’t make logical sense to go after it. We usually get caught up in the sessions that bring home the the money so we end up pushing back those shocks that keep us fresh and motivated. We keep pushing it back farther and farther until it becomes a point where a part of the creative dies inside from not doing the work that he or she loves. That’s what I want to avoid in 2012. I want to follow those electric shocks, because without them, I lose motivation to keep pushing in this industry. I desperately needed to fill those spaces after a tough wedding burst at the end of 2011. I’m still working on most of the weddings I shot, but I don’t think I could have kept going without something like this to refresh my palate. Meet Tyler Brewer. She’s so sweet and I can feel her passion for modeling with every picture I took of her. Here’s a few of my favorites that kept my shock alive.

Also, thank you to Tiffany Dixon for doing such an awesome job on make-up. I owe you one! :)

Jeff and Tracy are still one of my favorite couples. Not only are they really good friends of mine (Jeff is basically the older brother I never had), they are SO in love. Here’s last year’s session where I talked about his romantic journey across the US by train to meet Tracy (it still gets [...]

I shot my last wedding of 2011 yesterday which means senior season is right around the corner! I really enjoy shooting seniors because I feel that when seniors book me for their photos, they aren’t just looking for typical shots- they want works of art. So as an artist, it’s really fun to push myself and create these pieces that capture such an important time in their lives. These are the photos that you’ll show your grandkids and say, “This is grandma when I was your age.” Which is so cool to me! That being said, there are tons of photographers out there that are capable of pressing a button on their camera. It just comes down to your standards and how unique, creative and high quality you want the work to be.

SO! What does it take to be a Chandler Adaway Photography Senior?
It takes a love of colorful images.
A mindset that typical senior photography isn’t good enough.
The ability to express who you are through a picture (AKA: Don’t be nervous!)
The want to be different.
You can’t mind when people “OMG” constantly over your images. It will happen. I promise.
And lastly, the want for the best senior photos that you can possibly get. You’re only a senior once, right?

I’m offering these senior sessions at an extremely discounted price this year. Mainly because I’m a senior myself and I know that spending a lot of money on pictures just isn’t doable right now. Session fees are $225 which is due at the time you book a date with me (this is important to note because if you have not paid and someone else wants your date and pays their session fee, they get the date. This happened a lot last year and so I feel the need to clear this up). I’m also offering 50 wallets (with the ever-so-popular rounded edges that everyone likes) included in the session fee. Everything else is a la carte.

ONE STOP SHOP
I also do amazingly beautiful custom senior invitations. They are so different than the norm and everyone who buys them is in love (I don’t blame them). They include envelopes and are $260 per 100. Or $65 per 25.

So give me a call, email, text, whatever! Let’s get your senior pictures set up and have some fun. :)

Now, take a look at THIS senior. Ashley, Ashley, Ashley. You’re AWESOME. Ashley’s super smart and beautiful. What’s not to love? We had a lot of fun shooting these and I think it shows.

I got a call from Sara one evening and one of the first questions she asked me was what kind of camera I used. Of course, I promptly answered “a Canon 5D Mark II.” After that, she asked, “when can we meet?” This was the great start to working with some of my favorite people. [...]

I got a call from Sara one evening and one of the first questions she asked me was what kind of camera I used. Of course, I promptly answered “a Canon 5D Mark II.” After that, she asked, “when can we meet?” This was the great start to working with some of my favorite people. EVER. I don’t think you can fully understand how awesome Sara and Jason are until you spend as much time with them as I have. They’re 100% genuine, loving, easy-going, happy people and I seriously could not be more blessed to have received that phone call.

Saturday was the big day! It was such a beautiful wedding. Sara had every detail covered and everything went so smoothly. It was full of love and happiness, just the way a wedding should be. Here’s some of my favorites from the wedding day.

I’ll never get over the magic that is airbrushed makeup. One second, a bride’s face is bare, and then the next, WAH-BAM! It’s crazy. “She’s going to look like a zebra!” <--- Sara will get that one.

I love how this little girl is admiring the princess. :)

BLING.

Dear Dress,
Thank you for hiding the horrible looking deer feeder behind you.
Sincerely,
Me

Spencer and Seth were a dream to work with. I’m so looking forward to Spencer’s Bridals and their wedding! Here’s a few of my favorites. This one is a little out of character for them. They are probably the happiest/goofiest people I know. But I really like it in a artistic way. They look beautiful!
